2019 Tours - Where and when?

I've been off the internet most of the year so this thread is a bit late but....

Where and when will you all be touring in 2019?

I've decided to take a break from long distance touring in 2019 after 3 straight years of cross country rides and instead will be focusing on a few long distance backpacking trips.

I do have one short tour planned this year though. We'll spend 10 days this September bicycling the Black Hills of South Dakota. We'll start at the southern terminus of the Mickelson Trail and then head north to Wind Cave NP, Keystone (Mt. Rushmore), then east to Badlands NP via the southern route, back west to Rapid City via the northern route, and then back onto the Mickelson Trail with a final destination of Spearfish.

This too is a semi-off year for me.  I currently have four shorter 4-12 day trips planned this year.  My dad is 97 so I don't want to do any long trips and/or trips I can not get home quickly if need be.  Will probably do another 7-12 day trip in the early fall from Atlanta to the East Coast depending on his health.

Bikelicious Babe. you will enjoy the stretch along the St Jo river.  Very quiet and pretty pretty. Sort of like what the Lochsa river was 30 years ago.  Enjoy.

Thanks. I am planning to camp maybe 9 miles before Avery then do the Hiawatha and NorPac to Wallace the next day.

How is the climb from St. Regis? I know it's not paved until the summit at the border with ID.

I will ride an average of just over 56 miles/90 km each day I am on the road, six days out of seven each week.  The ride is unsupported and I will be camping 75-80% of the overnights.  I'm 66 years old- will turn 67 during the ride- and, at 275 pounds/125 kg, am a Clydesdale rider.  My bike, a 2016 Surly Disc Trucker with a Rohloff hub, will weigh in fully loaded at just about 90 pounds/41 kg.

Hoping for a cross country tour starting in mid-July from the  Oregon coast to Savannah.  A few things have to fall in place, but at this point it looks favorable.  I had to abort last year but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this summer/fall.  Gad, I hope so. I'm not getting any younger.

When you reach Savannah ... hope you will consider heading on out to Tybee Island to dip your wheel.
I believe you will find Tybee to be an enjoyable venue (be careful of traffic timing & shoulders from Savannah to Tybee).

We’re doing a “credit card tour” around and near the Elk Mountains in Colorado in July. 1 week, mostly paved, some gravel, pretty relaxed pace.

Then in October we’re doing a supported ride of the Kokopelli Trail from Fruita, CO to Moab, UT. Should be fun!

Thanks, but I am not much on staying connected while out on the road.

All but one of the miles of the 16 miles of that climb out of St. Regis are dirt. (The ID side is paved.) 9 miles of dirt to get from Avery to the Route of the Hiawatha, which is 14 miles of dirt. 2.5 miles of dirt to get down to the unpaved NorPac Trail, then 9.5 miles up that to Lookout Pass. If I take the NorPac down from Lookout (as opposed to I-90) that about another 9 miles of dirt. King Pass to Murray, ID is 6 more miles of dirt. South of Stryker, MT, I may try another 19 miles of dirt in order to spend less time on U.S. 93. There are some other unpaved stretches south of Columbia Falls that parallel Hwy. 206 and take me to SR 35. Have done them before. Pretty and quiet. Between there and Bigfork I am not sure what I will encounter because this time I am going to try some roads that parallel SR 35, which was pretty busy when I rode it in 2017.

Has anyone ridden the Mickelson Trail this year? We leave in 2 weeks for the trail as noted above.

I rode most of the trail in one long day on July 2 of this year, as part of a 3,200+ mile tour. The trail surface was in good condition then.
