Arkansas High Country-South/Central Loops-Flood Closures-5/29/19

There are currently several road closures due to flooding in the Arkansas River Valley and tributaries on the South and Central Loops. The route between Dardanelle and Conway in particular has at least 4 road closures, including the Arkansas River bridge on SR 60 at the Perry/Faulkner County line near Toad Suck. No detours have been posted. The conditions are changing rapidly, so be sure to check the below links for status:

Also, as of 5/30/19, much of the Arkansas River Trail around Little Rock and North Little Rock is impassable due to flooding. The route primarily uses the trail system to access the city from the main South Loop. Any travel between Little Rock and Pinnacle Mountain State Park (south side of river), or Little Rock and Conway (north side) will require detours. I will post any detours as we are made aware.

The inaugural Arkansas High Country Race on Jun 8 will still be happening, but several detours will be in place to avoid flooded areas.

Some comments: Mapped routes in red, flood detours in blue. Note that this map doesn't include detours for the Dardanelle to Conway segment on the South and Central Loops. The race does not follow this route. Also, a few detours are not flood related, but were implemented for closer access to services. These are in Russellville, Eureka Springs and Mountain View.

Again, make sure to check status reports provided in the links of this thread. The flood situation is rapidly changing.
