Hyperlinks in messages-- confused
« on: June 23, 2019, 09:02:03 pm »
I ran into a couple things I don't understand while posting

I tried highlighting some words I wanted to turn into a hyperlink, and clicking the hyperlink button.  In other software I've used, this pulls up a dialogue box where I can paste the URL I want to link to.  Here it just showed bracketed u and /u tags-- not clear where to place url.

I was able to simply paste a url into a message.  But when I posted the message, everything after that link was gone.

Is this a bug, or am I just missing something?

Looks like it's using HTML tags. Try putting the URL between the <u> and </u> tags.

Thanks Stuart. That makes sense-- but normally the tag would include the url you're linking to, and the text you want to display. I saw no way to do that here.

I can try a few tests. Figured someone might see the issue off the top of their head

Still confused why everything after a tag I've pasted in disappears.

You can just paste the link, as below.

http://www.google.com/

The "u" tag is for underlining. Hyperlinks are marked with "url" tags, but you don't have to do use it.

I have no idea why the text after the hyperlink disappeared. I suspect you did something else wrong.
