2 App Related Questions
« on: July 15, 2019, 09:54:07 am »
It's been a few years since I've used ACA maps and I am happy to see this app and ability to purchase and use the maps on mobile devices. I've got a few questions that maybe someone here can answer as I have not received a response asking ACA.

1. The paper maps seemed to provide a little more info with the services listing. For example on Lewis & Clark route through Columbus MT it lists City Park Columbus.  This park is actually named Heritage Park and I drove by it yesterday. Nothing suggests its  a campground on in person or anywhere I can find online. With seemingly less info than the paper version is it safe to assume the police and neighbors are ok with tents in their city park?

2. The app allows feedback to be provided regarding services listed. I was hoping to read others feedback about the services. Either nobody is leaving feedback, I cant find it in the app, or its not shared. I'm hoping it's not the third as that would be one of the most useful aspects of the app. If I could see feedback it would help answer questions like above and give immediate updates and current info regarding services.

The paper maps and digital data share the same service information. If the cyclist only camping options have additional information such as contact information or other restrictions it will be listed in the details of the service point.

The app does allow user feedback on service data that goes to the cartography team that updates the route data accordingly. We look to incorporate public feedback directly in the app in the future.

Hope this helps!

I think what MVIGLIANCO was suggesting is a feature like Yelp where bicyclists can give feedback about an establishment.   I used Google to get rating information although it would be nice if it were available within the Bicycle Routes app.

Exactly

Also is there a trick to using offline mode? I've deleted and reloaded several times but only get what seems to be a random selection of tiles at different zoom elevations.

If the download completes you should have all the tiles that the route travels through. What route and section are you getting a random set of tiles for? I'll check on my end to see if I can replicate the issue.

The intention is to have a feature like this (public feedback to share with other users), too, in the future.
