At this time, the US Forest Service is planning to close Grave Creek Rd./FR 114 between Birch Creek Recreation Site and Clarence Creek Campground for a few days.

July 22: They will be mobilizing and hauling equipment, there will be no closures, but there may be short (<30 min) delays.

July 23-25: Construction will be active and the gate will be closed at the Birch Creek Campground on FR 114 in the Kootenai National Forest, as well as at the intersection of FR 114 and FR 7021 from 7 AM to 6 PM each day. No traffic will be allowed through this segment during those hours, including bicycle and foot traffic. There will be heavy equipment working in a very tight space, and it cannot be considered safe to pass. You may contact the local Forest Service office for updates, as the road may open up sooner than July 25th, depending on progress.

Cyclists will be allowed to pass through the area when construction is not underway, 6 PM - 7 AM.

The US Forest Service has alerted us to an additional day of construction that will close this section of the route on Monday, August 12th. The gate will be again closed from 0700 to 1800.
