GPX included in Map/Guidebook?
« on: February 10, 2021, 03:08:27 pm »
Bought the GDMBR guidebook and maps. Other european books I've gotten included a link for GPX data, but I couldn't find one for these.

Does that mean I need to purchase the GPX data separately? Shoot! Seems like I've already paid for the underlying information.

Thanks!

Yep, you would need to purchase the data.  The data is separate as some use just the data and others want to use just the maps.  For the GDMBR, I would suggest both due to the remote nature and a lot of unsigned forest roads.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for the quick reply. Agreed I want the GPX data. Maps are easier to plan with.

Hoping Canada will open up for us! Otherwise starting at Roosville! It will be quite an adventure, with our 12 yo (will turn 13 on the trip and 14 yo! Super excited!

You can probably find gps files online.
RideWithGPS is good for that.
Of course, as with anything online, some sources ate better than others!

Good luck!

As Hobbes mentions, it is possible to get other sources.  However, if you buy the data from ACA, you get lifetime (I think) updates in case of changes.
