Northern Tier #10 Map 131 - detour at Macedon, NY - Mar 2020

The O'Neil Rd. bridge, on the east side of the hamlet of Macedon, is closed to all use for repairs.  (This bridge was previously closed to motor vehicles but open to cyclists and pedestrians.  It is now closed to all users.)  Per the Wayne County Highway Dept. website https://www.localconditions.com/weather-wayne-county-new-york/ny1282/traffic.php, it is scheduled to be closed until November 30, 2020.

A detour is posted between NY 31F/350 (@Lock 30) and O'Neil Rd.  The detour uses NY highways 31F and 31.  The detour only adds about 0.2 mile to the route.

This project is completed; the bridge and connecting trail are reopened to foot and cycle traffic.  Note that at this writing (Feb. 2021), detour signs are still up.

This 100 year old bridge has been permanently repurposed to non-motorized use only.  A nice trailhead with parking has been added on its south side.  There is roadside parking on the north side.
