Maps for trans-Canada trip?

Are there maps available for a trans-Canada bike tour? In other words, is there a Canadian
equivalent to Adventure Cycling's TransAmerica route?

I could probably stitch something together from RideWithGPS or such, but it would be better
if there were existing maps.

There are none that I know of per se.  However, the Route Verte(?) is a fairly large network in eastern Canada.  Also, check out journals at CrazyGuyonaBike.com so you can glean some info on the good and bad roads to take from people who have already done this.

The route verte is good for Quebec and does connect with the waterfront trail thru Ontario.  The trail is mostly on roads.  Ss for anything like maps comparable to adventure cycling. I havent seen anything close.

From what I've seen in Ontario, and heard about the prairie provinces, you want to stay on local roads with light traffic.  Many of the provinces don't provide paved shoulders on major roads.  If you want to plan your own route, check out Map Art maps.  These maps are detailed and show every road.  I don't remember if unpaved roads are marked on the maps, so beware.

The greatest thing about Adventure Cycling maps is their detailed information on gas stations, grocery stores, campgrounds - even in the middle of nowhere - something that is very important when planning your trip. When I planned my trans Canada trip I spent a few weeks on Google Maps tracing all the necessary details onto a paper map.

I once met a guy who rode across USA only with his smartphone and an internet connection to google maps.

I don't think there's a map set equivalent to what ACA does, but I know there's at least one book out there about touring across Canada.

I was recently reminded of this resource:

It is a wiki-built series of maps, built on Google Maps and documented in RideWithGPS.  It provides several routings in some places.  It’s most useful if you use a smart phone, though I wonder how it manages where there is no cell coverage.  I have not used it, as I do not use a smart phone.

Doesn’t have services, from what I can see.  Though I imagine the maps could be annotated.

So far, the creator seems to be the primary or only contributor, so progress is slow.
