That one is easy.  Everyone I met and asked said they had headwinds regardless of which way they were going :)
Agreed.  But now the question would be put to rest or at least we could refer to the poll as the official answer.   :)

Seriously...  I believe that there is a bit of an advantage to going E-W on the TA when it comes to the wind due to the fact that the TA tends to rune SE across the Plains and the surface wind tends to come out of the SE during the summer there.

There are a couple caveats though.  First, it may not apply to other routes that don't run on that diagonal across the plains.  And second, there are myriad other factors that are likely to be more important.
