GAP trail ride
« on: January 17, 2021, 10:11:27 am »
Hi all, question, we are riding the GAP trail this summer. We are going to park in Pittsburgh and ride to Washington, DC. Can someone tell me a good place to park my car for a week. Parking garages, etc.. Thanks for the help.  Geo

We parked the car at the Hampton Inn & Suites Pittsburgh/Waterfront-West Homestead.  We rode our bikes one day to the 3 Rivers area then back to the hotel.  Made for an easy first day and gave us time to see a little bit of Pittsburgh. I am 95% sure they did not charge us to leave the car there but we did have 2 rooms for 2 nights.
Hope you have a great time.

There is a Holiday Inn (Express maybe) in Homestead 9 miles from the end that sits right on the trail and was super bike friendly when we were there. You might want to ask them if you cannot find a place.

How ill you get back from DC to Pittsburg?  If by train, then I believe the train station would be accommodating.
