Alcohol Stoves on GDMBR

Are there areas on the GDMBR where alcohol stoves are not permitted?

I will defer to those with better knowledge & experience on the GDMBR, but to my understanding, any local area might temporarily ban various types of stoves due to heightened fire danger in that region at that time.

I agree with TCS. Most of the route is in state and federal lands. So those should be ok except during fire season bans (seasonal). Might be bans in the national park lands of Canada and the short section of Yellowstone that you ride through. But, again, I'd think that would only happen during a fire season emergency.

I recall reading several years ago about this topic.
What I can recall is that "open" flame stoves without an automatic stop function could be banned due to seasonal conditions.
My understanding was that a gas stove was OK, an alcohol stove not, even a Trangia with its lid (as opposed to a homemade burner).

*My information is old and dredged from memory. For such things always better to get it from the horse's mouth - perhaps try emailing the relevant bodies?

Ironically, when I hiked the AT I carried a Jet Boil and had an easier time getting fuel than the alcohol stove users. Aside from the noise of a Jet Boil, there is no diesel bus smell and no burning picnic tables as we often encountered around alcohol stove users.
