Looking for a touring bike for sale.
« on: April 06, 2021, 09:21:41 pm »
My son and I are planning a cross country tour this summer but he needs a bike.  He is 5'11 and 170 lbs and usually rides a 56 or 58cm bike.  If anyone here knows of someone wishing to sell a touring bike I would certainly appreciate hearing about it.
Thanks,
Doug Sheehan

Just posted a 54 c.m. for sale.   My wife is 5'9"   May be small for your son, but FYI

I have a Trek 520, 57 cm, that I would let go pretty reasonably to a good home (someone who will use it).  It’s about 10 years old, but well maintained and cared for.  Brooks saddle and Schwalbe Marathon Supremes.  I have too many bikes right now.  If interested let me know and I’ll send some pictures.  I’m in Northern California.

Doug,

I may be selling my steel frame touring bike.   It is a Soma Smoothie ES (Extra smooth) that I built and have since modified and set up great.   It is a 58.   Great components, wheels, extra tires and racks etc.  I rode it on the ST in 2019 then continued on to Key West.  I did a Crazy Guy blog so there are plenty of pics on it.   If interested in talking further email me a bccline@comcast.net and we'll exchange numbers

similar to anyone else who might be interested in a great steel frame touring bike with drop bars and integrated shifters.
