We are doing a self-guided bike trip starting in Glen Arbor, MI to Mackinac Island. We would like to hire some responsible youth to simply leap frog our cars from town to town so that we can just rest and relax after our daily rides rather than shuttle cars back and forth.
Thanks for any leads any of you may have.

Out of curiosity, why do you want access to your car every day instead of just at the end of the tour?  I would think the logistics of getting the helper back to his/her home each day would eat up two hours of your time.  Or are you going to pay them to sag the entire way along with their lodging, food, etc.?

We have kids doing this ride with us. Two families.  We are not at the skill level of biking with panniers and traveling light-also some food restriction issues so we need to have access to luggage/coolers etc.

We plan to hire two or 3 kids who want to make some easy summer money doing nothing but driving.  One kid drives their own vehicle-the other kid drives our car to the next stop and then they return to wherever they live via their own vehicle.

Hope that clarifies.

Got it.  I figured there had to be something unique going on.  You might try asking some of the local (along the route) bike clubs if they know of any college kids.  Perhaps some bike club members can get one of theirs to do it.

Don't rule out retirees looking for some adventure in their lives. A little more responsible than college kids maybe :)

You are so right! We hadn't thought of retirees and it's a great idea.  Now if I only knew one in Michigan!

The Bridge was closed to bicycles last year but I could find nothing just now to indicate the Michigan DOT is not ferrying bikes across now.
Michigan has a very active club and  might be where to look: https://www.lmb.org/ for help.

DALMAC, the annual organized bike ride from E. Lansing, MI (the Michigan State Campus) to Mackinac City, used to offer one route that did cross the Mackinac Bridge but that was dropped a couple of years ago when MDOT closed the bridge to all bike riders.   There was one day around Labor Day weekend when the bridge was closed to all motorized traffic and open to pedestrian and bike use only but that has also been dropped.

I'm a cycling coach, and we recruited a couple more to go to Michigan in addition to our guys. Next month my team and I will cover the distance to Kissimmee. We arrange such trips every year. Our club has hired drivers who will be driving cars, while the guys will cover the distance on their bikes. The guys and I have long been deciding what city to go to, that it was not so far away in Florida and that it was more or less safe. We decided on Kissimmee. We found out about its safety at https://www.travelsafe-abroad.com/united-states/kissimmee/. By the way, every time we go on these mini-trips with the guys, we always check the safety of these cities.
