Maps Provided

I’m registered for a self supported AC tour next year.  In the “Before You Go” information, it says that maps are provided to the rider.  Are we given the choice of paper or digital maps?  I’m very much a paper map guy…

I’ve only taken one short AC tour, which was a new route so they gave us copied hardcopy maps.  I’m wondering what they do on an epic tour with an established map set.

I'll bet you are still offered the paper versions because not everyone is into electronic navigation as a primary means, myself included.  I remember someone in our Northern Tier group saying how nice it was to finally move on from the map that covered much/all of Montana.  :)  We were on that one for a while.

BTW...They make great windbreakers.  I discovered that during the descent from Loup Loup Pass in WA. It was a bit chilly but very sunny during the climb, so my jersey got wet from sweat.  Put the map inside my jersey for the descent.

Paper can be good for many other uses.  Paper sandwich bags make decent improvised gloves on a cool ride.
