brooks c19 vs b17?
« on: December 28, 2021, 03:51:10 pm »
I like my b17except for the wet weather stretch. I like my saddle to stay hard and not sag
because sagging pushes me forward on the saddle.

The c17 seems to narrow. The c19 looks to be a proper width, but it is very rounded and
I worry that that will bother me as I prefer the flat top of a b17. I have seen the the c67, but it looks too wide.

I ride at a middling angle of about 45 degrees I think. Bars even or very slightly above the saddle. My sit bones are about 140mm.

Do any of you have experience with both the b17 and c19 and can you compare them?

I converted from a B17 to a C17 last year with no break-in required. Like the B17, I needed to switch to a set-back seat post since the Brooks rails do not allow you to get the seat back as far as other brands. Have had the B17 since 1973.

I ride both. The C-17 is firmer and the firmness never changes. The B-17 is firm to start but is more pliable once you are through the break in period.
