Southern Tier from Orlando
« on: March 18, 2022, 07:01:34 pm »
Hello,

Next Saturday, I will arrive in Orlando and I would to join the ST in the city of Gainesville.
I would like to know the best and safe way to ride from the airport until Gainesville.
Thank you very much for all suggestions.

If you have time I would honestly take Highway 528 east to Cocoa (45 miles) and ride the Atlantic Coast Route section 7 to St. Augustine (123 miles) and then follow the ST to Gainesville (75 miles). It would add 3 days to your ride but St. Augustine, the oldest city in the USA, is quite a gem and would be a shame to miss it.

Happy Touring!

If the extra days were an issue and you wanted to start in St Augustine a rental car or greyhound bus gets you to St Augustine in a few hours.
