Best SIM card provider for Oregan/Idaho?
« on: May 07, 2022, 06:58:11 am »
Hi, I'm starting the TAT in Florence and need to buy a pre-paid SIM for when I arrive. I've heard a few options but what may be the best data/phone providers for the first few stages? I plan on buying monthly plans, buying the best option for the region each time.

Thanks!

Generally speaking, Verizon has the best rural coverage (at least a year or two ago).  I can't say specifically about OR/ID but just check out the coverage maps on each cell service's website.

I hope you have a great trip!

I have had good luck with Verizon there.  I think there are other prepaid plans that use the same network.

It seems like buying a prepaid Verizon SIM card here in the UK isn’t possible as far as I can find. I’m guessing there will be vendors at PDX airport or at town/village stores?

Luckily I will have offline maps loaded on my phone anyhow.

Every cyclist’s experience is so unique! I went on a long tour last summer, and I was shocked at how different my weight loss was compared to my friends. I rode a lot but focused on eating well during the trip. I packed high-energy snacks and made sure to stay hydrated, which really helped me maintain my energy levels.

If you're looking for prepaid options when you get to the U.S., there should be vendors at PDX airport or in larger towns where you can grab a Verizon SIM. I’ve had good luck finding SIM cards at airport kiosks or larger chain stores like Walmart or Target. Just keep in mind that some prepaid plans require activation with a U.S. address, so maybe double-check the provider's terms before purchasing.

For anyone looking for UAE mobile recharge options, I usually handle mine online via https://paynet.red/uae-mobile-recharge/du. It’s super convenient, and I’ve used services that offer instant balance updates, like this one for Du recharge.
