Bloomington IN - Eastern Express
« on: July 29, 2022, 08:36:59 am »
Looking to take Eastern Express Trans Am route westbound, but would like to go through Bloomington IN perhaps where I have family.

That appears to be about 20 miles south of the route (map 14).  I can toy with mapping apps but wondered if anyone had done similar work already

Check out USBR-235 https://www.adventurecycling.org/routes-and-maps/us-bicycle-route-system/maps-and-route-resources/?route=indiana235 .
The route might be a down and back or you could wing it westward after you hit Bloomington.  Note that USBRs do not have the detailed services listed nor a paper map but they are free.

Go Cutters!  ;)

Will do, good suggestion.

Are you a Hoosier?   What do you think of this (generated with Komoots): https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40384616

Matt

PS - A local once told me the term was really "Stonies" not "Cutters"?  Anyway, yes.

Nope, I'm a redneck Okie.  Just loved the movie.  The route looks fine but my guess is there might be a bit more gravel than what RWGPS shows.  Other than that, it looks fine.  Have a great ride!

We like dirt roads actually, so that would be a plus, not a minus.    ;)
