Route 66, Section 03, Map 41: Bridge Closure, Nov 2022

ACA has designed a 31.3 mile detour to avoid a closed bridge that is undergoing maintenance. It crosses the Canadian River southeast of Bridgeport in Caddo County, Oklahoma. The detour travels south of I-40 and along a part of USBR 66 OK. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation stated the bridge would likely be closed until the spring of 2024.

Hi,

would it also be possible to just ride along I-40 between Calumet Road and Bridgeport ? Is this just discouraged or completely fobidden ?

The bridge is supposed to be finished in July 2023. Bicyclists aren't allowed to ride on I-40 as a detour around the bridge closure.
