Hello all, I'm planning summer vacations and I'm thinking of doing the ACA Atlantic Coast route, starting in Boston and riding north to the end at Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. I'm vaguely planning to do this in late July. I'm envisioning a lot of scenic riding along the southern coast of Maine, and stopping through picturesque New England towns. For those of you who have already ridden this stretch, how is it? Worth doing, or not at all what my imagination has conjured up? How are the road conditions? Are they safe? Is the route scenic or boring?

I have not ridden this, but you can read about the Riding Conditions for the Atlantic Coast section 1 here. Go to his page and click on the Riding Conditions tab, and choose Section 1.

Ah, I had somehow overlooked that part of the route description. Thanks for pointing that out!
