The St. Georges Bridge on US 13 across the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal in Delaware will be closed from April 2023 until approximately October 2024. Bicycles are not allowed on the adjacent William Roth Bridge on SR 1, so the only alternative for south- or northbound bike travel is the Reedy Point Bridge on SR 9, south of Delaware City and approximately 5 miles east of St. Georges. Stay on SR 9 instead of diverting to US 13 both north and south of the canal, although the Chesapeake Option along the north side of the canal should still be accessible at St. Georges.
