The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) in collaboration with the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) are undertaking the rehabilitation of the Lyme- East Thetford Bridge over the Connecticut River on SR 113 between Thetford, VT and Lyme, NH. The bridge will be closed until November, 2024. Eastbound, the detour is to take US 5 north from East Thetford to Fairlee, VT, then turn right toward SR 25A and cross the river to Orford and rejoin the route. Westbound, at Orford, turn right onto SR 25a and cross the Connecticut River to Fairlee, VT. Turn left onto US 5 to East Thetford and rejoin the route.

Latham Rd. can also be used as a cutoff between US 5 and the I-91 interchange. This skips a nasty hill in East Thetford.
