Southern Tier Sec05 - Anthony Gap construction - SR404

Construction is being done to widen SR 404 on the Anthony Gap Alternate. As a result, lanes and shoulders may be closed.

End date was supposed to be Dec 2023, but as of Mar 2024, the project is still ongoing.
As of Mar 13, 2024, Westbound lanes have been completed, so when they are open, they have a good shoulder.  Eastbound currently has no shoulder.

To get around the construction, you can use the main route.

I'm happy to report that the widening of NM 404 is almost complete and nice wide shoulders are available in both directions. Unfortunately, the TX Loop 375 [portion of the Anthony Gap Alternate is still unrideable due to shoulder work.
