gdmbr support vehicle

I'm looking at supporting a group on the GDMBR in September using a 4x4 sprinter van.  Are there any sections of the route in Wyoming and Colorado where I won't be able to follow the bike route with the van?  Are there sections that are do-able but tricky?  Any advice with reference to ACA maps would be wonderful.  Thanks

Yes and yes.

Depends a little on which routes are taken - especially northern Colorado. I recall some tricky washouts between Brush Mountain Lodge and Steamboat, but the alternate route is reportedly better.

I've never done a van-supported ride, but I've heard stories of breakdowns from a couple of drivers.

I know the ACA runs a couple rides with a support van, and might be willing to share places they've lost vehicles through the years.
