Seeking riding partner(s) from San Francisco to Eugene OR
« on: April 10, 2024, 03:23:26 am »
Seeking interested riders for a 10 day (or so) bike packing trip from San Francisco, leaving SF on 7/1/2024

Our son will be attending the University of Oregon and I am hoping to bike up for his orientation while our son and my wife will be flying up.

It's too bad that your schedule doesn't allow you to ride home to SF after the orientation as riding south is probably a bit more fun and relaxing - riding with the wind and on the W side of the road next to the ocean.

ps My son did his grad school in Eugene.  He loved it!

Sounds pretty early for orientation!  I'll be riding north out of Eugene around July 28th towards Portland/Seattle - not sure yet how many days I have.  Don't imagine that helps much, but if your schedule changes, email me thisusername@gmail

You do realize that prevailing winds on the coast are northerly in the summer?
Which makes for a very tiring and draining ride.

Inland, you have the problem of brutal heat in the Central Valley. 100F plus.
Have you considered the Sierra Cascades route from north of Truckee to Crater Lake NP?
