India - January 2026
I am an experienced bicycle traveler, mid-60s in age, and very fit.  I have Indian relatives but very little ability to communicate in any Indian language.  I'm thinking of cycling through parts of India in January/February of 2026 and it would be great if I could find a travel companion.  Small hotels and/or guest houses, no camping, 80-120km per day depending on conditions.  I'm hoping to find some roads that are not too busy.  Anyone interested?  Please email:  madhuri1555@gmail.com

Looking to Form TransAmerica Trail Group Late May (Will go either direction)
« Reply #16 on: January 16, 2025, 05:19:06 pm »
Hello,

I am looking to form a group to do Transamerica trail leaving in May. Mileage will vary by region, but hoping to be in the 65-75 miles per day average range. If you can only join for part of the trip that works with me! The earliest I can start is May 21st. I am open to route changes, or even going West to East rather than my current plan of East to West. I am really excited by the opportunity, and hope that I can build a group. Happy to hop on a call with whoever and form some plans.

I am 64 yr old experienced tourer who would like to join one or more May to mid July '25 to do another 2 to 4 weeks from MSP airport on either the North Lakes connector to Detroit, or the main southern route down through IL, IN, OH maybe all the way to Niagra Falls. Baseball fan too so detour to see MLB game a plus or even minor league game. I have already done the NT west of MN, and did  Detroit to ME also. I can average 60-80mi per day but no less than 50/day ; with camping unless motel is cheaper or camp site too far off rt.

I am looking for companions to do some light touring of a few days at a time.  I am particularity interested in road riding down the coast of California possibly from Santa Barbara to San Diego or similar.  Also interested in doing some gravel riding possibly in Wisconsin.  I have mapped out a couple of circular rides taking in some of Wisconsin's rail trails.  Prefer to stay in motel / hotels.  Open to other suggestions.  69, male.

Across USA W to E June 2025
« Reply #19 on: January 19, 2025, 04:48:35 pm »
On June 1 I will be riding out of Cape Flattery, WA for New Smyrna Beach, Fl. I will be taking (generally) the following ACA routes. Washington Parks to Yakima, WA then east across US 12 to Lewiston, ID where I will take the Lewis&Clark to TransAmerica to Illinois where I will drop south join the Underground Railroad Trail to the Gulf Coast. From there I plan on following the Gulf Coast to the big bend area of Florida then across the peninsula to New Smyrna Beach. I expect to take about 3 months to do this.
I am looking for anyone that would ride all part or join me somewhere along the way. I plan on starting out doing about 35 to 45 miles a day and working myself up to an average of 60 to 70 miles a day by the end of the first week or so. I will be riding 6 days and taking one rest day off a week.

Mid July: Bikepacking the 50% gravel Columbia River Route from Canada to almost Hood River. Then, road touring to the Pacific Coast. From there, down the Oregon Coast a bit, head east and then up to Portland. Looking for companions, M/F full or part way. 50-60 miles a day. Will carry camping gear but an occasional motel and restaurant/cafe is great. Just take what the road gives one. This is not a race.
I'm a retired male high school teacher with a lot of experience in touring and bikepacking. I'm easy going and team oriented.

Greetings, fellow riders!

I’m looking for companions to join me on a roughly 20-day adventure up the Cassiar Highway from Prince Rupert to Whitehorse this July. The plan is to fly into Prince Rupert during the first week of July and spend about 20 days riding north to Whitehorse, before flying back home.

I’ve put together a tentative GPS map of the route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49903625

A little about me:
I’m 31 and have extensive touring and bikepacking experience. I've completed the TransAm, the Pacific Coast Bike Route, and the Idaho Hot Springs Route. I’ve also ridden from Panama to Ecuador and done several shorter bikepacking loops across the US and Canada. I’m left-leaning, LGBTQ+ friendly, and love camping and the outdoors. My ideal daily mileage is around 50–65 miles (weather and route permitting).

I’m looking to connect with 1-2 like-minded riders who share a similar pace and mindset for this trip! If you’re interested, feel free to check out my previous bikepacking adventures on my blog: https://www.cycleblaze.com/profile/jeremynolan94

Hope to ride with you!

2025 Summer Bike Tour — ACA Rtes TransAm>PPP>NT — Companions Wanted
« Reply #22 on: March 12, 2025, 12:37:09 pm »
I am requesting F/M touring companions for any/all sections of a 2025 W>E transcontinental unsupported bike tour from Florence, OR to Bar Harbor, ME: 4,500 miles.  I will be utilizing the following ACA route sections and would be willing to make minor modifications per will of the group:

1. TransAmerica starting in Florence, OR;
2. Parks, Peaks, and Prairies starting in West Yellowstone, MT; and
3. Northern Tier starting in Minneapolis, MN.

Tour Dates: Jun 1 to Sep 15, 2025; actual start date could be closer to mid-Jun depending on riding partners’ availability; regardless, overall trip will be ~105 days.  Will ride 50-60 mi/day, camp the majority of the trip, and plan to take 1 rest day (aka Zero Day) per week. Drop-Ins of a week or two are fine, but you’ll need to be flexible — young rider and LGBTQ+ friendly.

I am a married 66 yr old male, retired K-12 teacher (15 years) and retired botanist/conservation biologist (15 years). I’ve traveled extensively in Central and South America, but have never spent months on the road in the U.S.  I am a natural history enthusiast and am looking forward to seeing the variety of biomes and landscapes across the continent.  I am comfortable stripping and rebuilding most any bike built before 2010 - I’ve never owned a bike with disc brakes, tubeless tires, suspensions, or electronic shifters.  For this tour, I’ll be riding a 40-year old Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo MTB that I put drop bars on with STI shifters (see attached photo).

Last year, I walked the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage from the French Pyrenees, across Northern Spain, to the Atlantic Ocean (540 miles). Bike touring experience includes two 500 miles rides in California in the early ‘80’s.  I graduated from high school in 1976, and had planned to ride the original Bikecentennial with a high school buddy.  Plans changed and we drove his ‘69 VW bus across the continent with our bikes strapped on top.  This tour has been on my Bucket List for 49 years.
