borrow/rent bicycle in DC area

Hi All - I live in San Diego and need to be in DC and then Richmond VA for work in September and thinking of biking south (and train back north). I really don't want to pack up my bike for such a short trip. Does anyone live in the DC area and have a bike (medium-sized) they'd be willing to lend/rent me for 5 days? And any recommendations on that route (planning on taking 2 days).

do you have a route planned? i rode from Richmond to DC a couple of years ago and didn’t enjoy that experience.
if you’ve got time, taking the train to Richmond then riding the trail to Williamsburg is a lot more enjoyable.
