GDMBR - New Mexico

In Catron County (New Mexico), the GDMBR passes a mountain peak named O Bar O Mountain. I have been trying to figure out where that name comes from. I have not been able to find it. Does anyone know what O Bar O refers to?

I live in Wyoming - so I do not know the specific ranch.
But "O Bar O" almost certainly refers to a ranch brand.
It is two Os with the second on having a dash or 'bar' above it.

I would try contacting the local library or historical society.  However, John's ranch guess may be quite accurate.  Out of curiosity, why do you want to know?  I too have wondered how certain names came about (or even persist).  The worst/most intriguing to me is Bloody Dick Peak, BD Mine, BD Creek, etc in southern Montana near the Lewis & Clark Trail Section 5.  You can even rent Bloody Dick Cabin from the Forest Service.  I really hope it has to do with some British guy named Dick.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to know?

Thanks for the response. When I go cycling through an area I like to delve a bit into the history and geography beforehand. Such an unusual name as O Bar O Mountain immediately springs to mind.
