ACA Donation Requests

Is it my imagination or are members being inundated with donation requests? I don't remember receiving so many emails from ACA past years asking for money!

Seems to be an uptick but it is the "requesting" time of year. Since they have taken the desired benefits away from the "new and improved" membership, I doubt I will give this year.

Also, did the annual membership take a big jump? If memory serves, I paid $65 for a two-year (senior) membership the last time. Now they want $100 for one year of the same benefits (e.g., to get the paper magazine), and there is no senior membership.

Exactly, way less wanted benefits for way more money.  There is a huge thread over on BikeForums discussing this and the amount of "frustration" this new system has caused.  I worry it will hurt ACA unfortunately.

$100 should be lifetime membership to the forums and digital magazine. ACA is not trying to get members with their outrageous prices.

I bought the Delmarva maps and was so disappointed in it. I cycle from camp to camp only. I’m not a credit card tourist. The maps don’t clearly point out camping in easy to find spot. Nor show the park or campground entrances.

A lot of the map was on miscellaneous info that should have been on a separate page. I can’t read the tiny directions while cycling.

The Service Directory on the back has to be photo copied because it’s cut up for the individual maps. What were you thinking?

I have to say the "easy to find" campgrounds may not be their fault in that there just are not that many campgrounds anymore that accept tents unfortunately.  While I do not have the DelMarVa printed map set, I generally think ACA produces excellent maps.  Could they be better, maybe.  But they are the best out there for cyclists.

And while I’m on a rant about their maps. Since when did Delaware and Maryland become all parks and. Forests. The background colors on all the maps are green meaning in cartography that it’s parks or forests. They need to change that.  When I look on the map, I’m looking for parks and Forest to camp out. The cartography team at ACA really blew it.
