Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with the Fuji Touring 2016? I'm thinking about purchasing one.
My current bike is a 94' Schwinn Crisscross, which I have been commuting with every day for 3 years now. I like its stability both at high and low speeds, the flexibility of its trekking bars, and its sturdy build. The steering on it is a bit heavy, but it is generally a good bike. I also like the cantilever brakes, which have very good stopping power, as well as good flexibility - if it breaks on the road I can replace them with linear pull or cantilever brakes. The gear range is a little narrow, but 3x7 parts are by far the easiest to acquire, and 8/9sp parts can be used in a pinch.
Before the Schwinn, I commuted on a Trek 7.3FX, circa 2005 for several years. I did not like how it handled. While the steering was very light, it felt wobbly at low speeds, the front wheel had a tendency to leave the ground, and at high speeds, the front wheel would vibrate quite violently, shaking right and left.
I have rode several Fuji's when I was a bike mechanic 5 years ago. While I didn't do much other than testing them in the parking lot, I was struck by the simultaneous ease of steering and high stability.
I have never ridden a Fuji touring. Is it any good?
