Cycling in India (specifically Kerala/Coorg)
« on: March 23, 2025, 09:04:43 pm »
I am looking to put together a group of interested cyclists to do a tour in South India, specifically Kerala and Coorg.

Dates: November 14-28, 2025 or Jan 2026 (can be finalized later)

Looking for relaxed and easy-going cyclists who have time and want a mix of experiences - culture, adventure, local sights and sounds and also enjoy some time to chill. I've found a very good/reliable vendor who takes care of the routes/support while we can spend time enjoying the routes/cycling. I am from India, but currently live in Vancouver and am looking for a small group to make it more fun. Have done all the basic research on routes/terrain etc.

Cycling - around 20-30 miles daily (with lots of breaks), and fully supported; mileage on the lower side to account for the heat and terrain
Terrain: mix of broken tarmac and some good backcountry/rural roads, some towns; traffic is low and we'll avoid any heavy traffic routes with the vehicle support if required
Weather: Warm/humid but also shaded stretches
Scenery: Very scenic, through plantations, paddy fields, tea estates, dams, rivers and with mountain ranges in view
Accommodation: Very best in the region, super comfortable (not budget)
Food: All kinds of cuisine (including Indian); severe allergies might be difficult
Cycles: Vendor provided; good MTBs (Scott/Trek/Cannondale)

Suitable for recreational cyclists who want to discover a new country and are looking for a new adventure! Lots of things to do along the way including nature walks, wildlife safari, a houseboat experience, local markets, and visiting temples and other monuments. Also, a few rest days so we have time to chill.
