Biking in Japan

hello. I was in Misawa, while my dad was in Wakkanai 1970-72 and was always off base biking around. there are alot of places to go, East are the ocean beaches, around town are wonderful gardens (actually budist temples, shrines). But this is a 30 year old memory, so I may not be much help. I'm jealous of your trip and hope you enjoy yourself. Let us all know how it went. Julie

Oh, I also finally finished Josie Dews book Ride in the Neon Sun, a Gaigin in Japan, and it's really a good book. She really learned about the culture/people while she was there and is very good at describing it all. Very worth while reading, she really made me laugh. Ganbatte!

I arrived Tokyo recently on a plan to bicycle several routes. Given the recent earthquake disaster, I am not really in much mood to think of these trips. But will stay ever optimistic that I will take them before too long.
