My ride is a Trek 930SHX mountain bike with RS JudyII front shock, upright stem and riser bars, Uno suspension seatpost, WTB Allterrainasaurus tires, WTB SST-Plus saddle, and Trek/Blackburn rear rack. I have a set of Trek panniers and also a BoB Yak trailer. Most of my touring is off-pavement.

Ride safe,
Hans

Have you ever been to Iowa on RAGBRAI?

Not my cup of tea. As I said, I do most of my touring/long distance patrolling off-pavement in the Chippewa (MN) and Chequamegon (WI) National Forests. Hope to do the Great Divide MTB Route one of these years and the Lolo Trail on the Lewis and Clark, but I am not much on asphalt. ;)

Ride safe,
Hans

A custom steel touring that I built under the tutelage of Tim Paterek.  It replaced a Trek 520.

Our last touring bike was a Rans Screamer, we have just replaced it with a Organic Engines Troika Tandem.
So far the trike looks like it will work out very well for loaded touring. The only draw back so far is that it won't fit though a standard doorway. You have to pick it up and tilt it to get it though a door. This will only be a problem when we stop at hotels. Most of the time we camp so it should not be too much of a problem.

...a recumbent, the BikeE RX. Riding an upright bicycle causes discomfort in my hands/wrists/elbows...too many years of grinding away on boats.

I've been thinking about BikeFriday's folding recumbent...the SatRDay.

My rides are a Bridgestone MB-4(Costume Built) and a Fuji Chikara TR-1000 that I have converted to a Hybrid.  I use both of them for touring. :)

Bentbaggerlen was too modest to mention that his Troika tandem was a tandem recumbent trike.  And quite the machine it is.  These are hand made in Tallahassee Florida.  Hey there Bentbaggerlen, do you have the IPS independant pedaling system?
