I would like to hear from people who have taken the intro to road touring class offered by AC. How was it? Would you recommend it? I'm thinking about taking it in Richmond in 2005. Any feedback would help.

I did the Intro course in Richmond last May and overall would recommend it highly. If you've never toured before this course will make you comfortable as a first time tourer as 2 months later I did a solo, self-contained tour. It is, however, geared towards their trips and methodology. There is a lot of info, some of which you'll need and some you won't, but you do leave more confident.

Last June I took the Intro class/tour in Wisconsin.  It was a very worthwhile experience.  The instruction was a nice blend of listening/watching/doing and our group tour was great fun.  Afterwards I solo'd about 300 miles of the Northern Tier and the information we got at the class came in very helpful.
