Touring with a Suspension MTB

I have read the forum and am aware of the low loader for suspension forks and also bob trailer. Has anyone toured with an MTB suspension frame fork with paniers attached. How did it work out ?

I did a trip with a front suspension.  No problems at all.  I used a
Mountain Man front rack made for this and it worked great.  I was out
for over 2 mos. on the trip.  I can not see any real serious problems.

I have a Fox suspension on a Specialized Comp. Is there any load restrictions on how much weight (well within Reason) what suspension Forks have you on your bike.

I have a OMM Cold Springs on a front fork (a '97 Marzocchi Bomber Z2). The rack itself has a 50lb weight limitation but nothing that I've heard about on a suspension fork. I don't know if the band clamps that OMM sells has a limitation, but I use a QR mounting system. In any case, I don't ever really put 50lbs of weight in the front.  

Works out fine for me. If you get a fork with a lockout, that's even better. I don't but my new commuter/touring MTB will.

I have used jury rigged front racks for years.  Then I found the Old Man Mountain front racks. They are GREAT.

The rack hooks to the V brake post and then the front hub.   They send you a new skewer to use.  

It takes a bit to rig it for your bike, but you will not be disappointed.  Especially with large panniers such as ARKEL.
