Drinking and Riding?
« on: May 10, 2005, 05:21:16 pm »
I had a Guinesss and Wheat beer last night.
1 of each...This morning I feel like crap.
Guiness is a high carb beer and thats why I had had one. So maybe it was the wheat beer? Any recomendations on having a beer after a hard days ride?

Beer wether it is low carb , or what ever. It has alchohol in it. That list it as a diaretic, cyclist need carbs, Having a low carb beer, and the alchohol content for which it contains, double whammie. No wonder you felt crummy. Forget the beer, try water, and milk, ect, ect, pasta, anything but beer. You have just ridden alot of miles, your body has used up the fuel it needsa to keep you going, the carbs, time to rest and replace the what your body has spent. So you feel refrshed the day or so. Hoe you feel better, enjoy your next ride. Have a great day. And saty away from the beer.  :)

Man, don't listen to that kind of crazy talk. not having a beer after a good hard ride would be like July 4 with no fireworks. just remember to drink plenty of water before bed and you shouldn't be too worse for the wear.
