water proof bag for Yak

I am a proud owner of a new B.O.B. Yak trailer and have a question about the bag or not using the bag.  I put a rubbermaid plastic tub on it just to see if it would fit.  It did, since I have not yet done any touring with the trailer as of yet I guess I would like to know if anyone else has used a tub instead of the bag and how did you like it?

Been using a BoB for 10 years, 6 of which have been car-less. Simply put, the bag I use on tours, and the tub for grocery shopping or whatever I need to fit in the BoB. Go to Bobtrailers.com forum for more options. Enjoy the voyage....Mark of the Dalton Boys

I do the same thing (bag for tours and tote for grocery store).  Fear not--the Yak Sak is VERY waterproof.

I'd suggest that you also consider weight.  The BOB trailer alone weighs over 14 pounds.  The dry sack weighs another 2 to 3 pounds.  What does the plastic tub weigh?

The dry sack does work.  It keep my gear dry, except when I opened it in the rain.

The plastic tub weighs just about the same as the bag.  My thought was that a hard sided container might be easier to handle as well as pack.  The lid closes and seems to be water tight.  Again I don't have any experience with this so I was just wondering.
