Looking for Off-Road Tour Companions
« on: May 19, 2006, 01:50:50 pm »
Hello All-

I am looking for some companions to join me in an off-road bike tour through the mountains of the Monongahela Nation Forest in West Virginia.  We will be utilizing several rail trails including the Dry Fork Trail, the Blackwater Canyon Trail, the New River Trail, and the Greenbrier River Trail (needless to say a mountain bike is STRONGLY recommended!)

Here is what I have in mind:
  • 5 days on the trail
  • 30-50 miles per day (~200 total)
  • Self supported
  • Tent it each night (maybe a cabin or two)
  • August-September time frame (undecided as of yet, I'm flexible)
  • 4 to 8? riders

Extra activities include: the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, Organ Cave, whitewater rafting, a scenic train ride, etc.

If this sounds like something you may be interested in, drop me a line!

Are you still looking for anyone?  Do you have any other trips planned?  I am interested.  Thanks.
