I have been a member of this forum for a couple of years or so. In my profile, I have not had my e-mail address visible to everyone. Also, I have not listed my 'real' e-mail address. I did all this because I don't want to get spam.

What is your experience? Should I list my real e-mail and make it visible?

ptaylor--as a computer tech, I always advise people to have several email addresses. 1 for personal use and the other is for everything else. If you're unsure or not comfy giving someone your main email address, give them the "secondary" email and then dont worry about it. If it gets spammed, it no big deal. Your "main" account is still there and unspammed.
Theres lots of free email accounts online. Gmail is a good one with excellent spam controls.

Hope this helps!  :)

Hi Paul,

My address has been in the profile since day 1 with no evidence of trouble. The logon requirement here would keep the spambots from scanning it.

Thanks Fred.

As GiantDave suggested, I have a garbage e-mail address which  have been using on my profile. I also have the option checked to hide that address. Thanks to your advice,  will post my real address on my profile,  and make is visible.
