Anyone have parts and repair searching tips for a newbie. I'm looking around and keep bumping into the same sites. I have an aging Biachi Eros that I love more than my new Specialized and I want to set it up as a touring bike.

You probably have found Loose Screws. They have supplied me parts that are long gone elsewhere on a few occasions. Good folks.

Try Bike Forums (www.bikeforums.net).  There are both a "Bike Mechanics" and a "Collectible and Vintage" forums with tons of help.  Another terrific site for repair and parts, particularly for older bikes, is Sheldon Brown's web site at Harris Cyclery. (www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/) This is a treasure.
