Join me on an august trans? Yeah I know it's 'hot'...but I am one for pain? I will leave from Nags Head and ride a route I will divise using maps here and at CYP....I will end the trip in Eugene Oregon. I want a partner...to ride with if anyone wants to do this. My plan is for around 80-90 miles a day with five days on two off.Anyway, I seek riders..let me know.

I thought everyone in nc knew what the triangle was.  raleigh durham chapel hill.  makes a funny looking triangle though.  Northern lower michigan is gods country in the summer.  the riding up there is spectacular. Nice rolling hills, cool temps and little traffic.   sometime you'll have to come up and tour leelanau county.  they have had a big road race up there the last two years, the tour de leelanau.   actually I have children in michigan that I miss too much right now.  unfortunately in the winter time there is not much to do but look at snow, so  I came down here to work for a landscaping company and make more money than I could up there on unemployment.

I might be interested.  I'm in DC, and planning to do a trans-america this August.  The original plan was to bike Yorktown to Eugene with a friend, but my friend might bail if he gets a new job.  Have you found anyone yet?

It would be my first trans, but I'm in good shape.  I think 80 miles/day would be doable, and I like the idea of 5-2.  But I might be a little slow at the outset.

Dude I want you to ride as slowly as you wish we can work that part out. I haven't found a soul ad you're totally invited. I may change the leave point, would that mess with you much? And I am planning it for 8 weeks flat.As for riding together and speed..seriously don't worry about that. There is a good possibillity we will have support in towns we visit because of my own little cycling mafia network I have created from racing over the years. So food is the main issue as far as how much to carry if any at all and smaller details.

Uhm contact me via e-mail and if things click and your freind bails then I would welcome you as a rider. We have plenty of room here in Boone if you need a staging area prior to the trip and wish to ride with me to get to know my style. We have training loops on Old 66/88 that are perfect for feeling other riders out. THANKS for replying!
