Great Divide - The right bike?

With 15,000 miles of self-contained road touring, it's time for a change.

Would like opinions from those who have spent time mountain biking on the Great Divide as to what bike works best on this trek with recommended components.

I'm leaning toward panniers instead of a BOB.  Right choice?

No one else can decide this for you. But you can read dozens of opinions on the topic by searching this forum for "trailer" and you can read Larry Diskin's research in the How To department at http://www.adventurecycling.org/

Just finished the Great Divide on September 21st. My husband and I both rode full suspension bikes with just 2 rear panniers and tubless tires/disk brakes. We went superlite on our gear.  It was a wonderful trip. E-mail me if you have an specific questions: sdopc@mindspring.com.
