Want to tour the Rockies?
« on: December 06, 2007, 05:16:18 pm »
Looking for someone to join me and one other guy on a guesstimate 250 mile mt bike adventure in the Colorado Rockies.  The trip will include Telluride, Silverton and  Platoro.  Part of it will parallel the Great Divide Mt Bike Route.  I'm looking at a stretch of singletrack, 4wd and dirt road, with a little pavement mixed in hear and there. If you want to see some incredible mountain scenery up close and just have fun riding some rocky terrain let me know.

When are you planning on doing this? Vechicle support or Bob ibex? How long?, will I get a t-shirt? Logistics man, logistics. I am game for any place, that I can ride with others, Being retired young, most all my rides are solo, I was going to do some of the rides AC has but they seem very organized, and regimented, I kind of like to roll with the terrain so to speak. No North shore riding for me though, Please

I'm shooting for the end of July or early August to ride through south-central Colorado.  It is potentially a 6 day journey with maybe a day break in between.  It is self-supported with pack, extra gear, tools and food.  Stops at places with accommodations is essential.  I may have a support person again this year to meet at points, but so far that is not a guarantee.
I too mostly ride solo. This is not a mass ride, but a one-man show.  I have a friend that went with last year and was my support guy.

Thanx for your reply.  Sorry I took so long to respond.  I haven't checked the forum since I first put this message on.
