im interested in buying a bob yak trailer but on my net searches in other forums ive read that the bearings in the bob wheel eventually go out. how far have you pulled a bob yak with how much weight and have you ever had trouble with the bearings going out?

My BOB has about 5000 miles on it. It doesn't come with a super hub. There is some slop in it now and being sealed bearing hub can't tighten down, but it still took me up to Crater Lake last month with no problems. My bag probably weighs 35#.

Hi again, Robert:
My experience with the wheel has been positive; no bearing problem to date. I did switch the MTB tire to a Schwalbe road tire for the TransAm (no flat ever!)

thanks for your post. it seems only a few ppl had these problems with the bearings because i cant find anymore forums or threads with ppl having such problems. i think the reason the bearings went out in the few ive seen is due to overloading the trailers.  iv seen in other forums where ppl hauled their bob trailer many thousands of miles , like driftle said, and had no problem.

think i have a solution, im going to replace the factory wheel, which is aluminum, to a more tougher wheel because i dont like aluminum wheels anyway.
