Looking for a route (east to west)
« on: June 17, 2004, 05:32:20 am »
I'm looking for a route that leaves New York City, and finishes somewhere in California (perferably a well known city such as Los Angeles or San Diego).

Has anyone ridden such routes or heard of one?

Both Adventure Cycling (Atlantic Coast route) and the East Coast Greenway (www.greenway.org)have published routes that go through NYC, check out the maps section on ACA or the website for the EC Greenway.

You can use these routes to hook up with the routes that go east west (The northern/Southern tier and the trans-am route)...

This years RAAM (Race Across America) route is from San Diego to Atlantic City.  The route slips can be found at http://www.raceacrossamerica.org/raam2004/2004route/2004timestations.htm.  Some of the older RAAM routes have started in San Francisco and Los Angeles and ended in Atlantic City.  I may be able to dig up some of those if your interested.
