Florida's bike trails .. North Region transition

This February I expect to ride Florida's Nature Coast Greenway, Withlacoochee, Sun Coast and Pinellas trails from Cross City (northern Fla.) into St. Petersburg.

I've done this ride several times from Dunnellon to St. Pete. but have not previously used the Nature Coast Greenway which starts in Cross City and ends in either Trenton or Chiefland.

Based on safety, I'm soliciting your opinion on which of the following routes you would recommend into Dunnellon:

A. Nature Coast Trail to Trenton then use routes 339/27/337/336 or,

B. Nature Coast Trail to Chiefland and then use routes 19 and 336.

I've tried (unsuccessfully) to get get advice from local shops / riding clubs who are familiar with the proposed routes.

We aren't as familiar with roadways that aren't on our routes, but I would suggest that you get in touch with the bike coordinator for the state of Florida. I have talked with Dennis a few times in asking about roads in Florida and he has always been able to answer my question, or referred me to someone who could.

Here is his contact information:
