We've done only two organized bicycle tours in Canada. The first one, back in 1996, was Cyclevents first Alaska Highway tour. Most of the Alaska Highway is in Canada's Yukon Territory and British Columbia province. For more information see http://www.cyclevents.com/full/alaska1.htm.

For way more details of that original tour see Ed Noonan's description at http://www.tailwinds.org/, or more specifically, http://www.tailwinds.org/general/index.html.

Our second tour, in 1999, was of Nova Scotia with Atlantic Canada Cycling, http://www.atlanticcanadacycling.com/planning/bicycleroutes/newfoundland/

A cross Canada tour is still on my "to do" list, although I've made it across the U.S. twice.

I've done a total of 5 trips in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. Atlantic Canada is one of my favorite places to tour. Great scenery, very interesting history, and diverse cultures. The roads are usually good, and even the tourist spots are not (very) crowded. There are many campgrounds, private and provincial, and several Canadian National Parks.

All of the Atlantic provinces have extensive tourism web sites, with camping specific info. They also publish tourism guides, which you can request.

Enjoy, Al.

You haven't experienced atlantic canada until you have made it to Newfoundland.  The ferry is in North Sydney Nova Socitia and it is well worth it.  Once on the Island  you can go see all kinds of great things.  Best weather is in late June to mid early sept.
