2 Brits on a Tandem undertaking Northern Tier

Hi can anyone help with us getting us and our tandem from Seattle Airport (Seatac) to Anacortes. Have bought Northern Tier maps, got 90 days to do trip and we're struggling to sort out the START! the rest is all sorted! Amtrak looks like an option but got to get us to King Street Station in Seatlle and a bus will not accomodate our tandem and there appers to be no rail link from SEATAC to King Street. We're also after some cheap accomodation for 1 night near the train station. We're all ears. We're doing this all for charity - THE BORN FREE FOUNDATION financing it all ourselves. If anyone would like to know more about our challenge email us at usabytandem@hotmail.co.uk we've done an email newsletter.

Suggestions:

Ride your bike - call or visit a local bike shop to find a safe cycling route

Rent a one-way car or a UHaul (may be less expensive)

Put a message on craigslist.org looking for a ride

If you do take Amtrak, make sure to investigate whether your start and end points allow baggage on/off - I got bitten by that in Colorado, wanted to take a train to Granby, and they stop there, but they don't let checked luggage off.

Have fun!

There's a shuttle that goes from the airport to Anacortes that might meet your needs.

My advise would be to ship your bike to Skagit Cycle Center, 1620 Commercial Street, in Anacortes.  Then, take the shuttle bus from SeaTac to Anacortes.  It drops you off about a block from the store.  That's what we did.
