what's your favorite bike touring route in maine?

my brother and i are planning a good weeks worth of loaded touring in
maine.  we thought we would plumb the depths of the collected wisdom
here and find out what people think is the best way to do that.
what routes are best that combine some road with some off road, great
views, camping and a good pub now and then?
is the ellsworth to callais route that bikemaine.org suggests a good one?
what is the best way to spend a week on a bike in maine?
