Between Quartzite and Wick there are many RV parks. Riding out of Quatzite, about 6 miles after you get off the interstate there are several rv parks which are basically closed this time of year because they are for the "snowbirds" that come from colder winter climates to stay in AZ for the winter. I rode through Quartz about 3 weeks ago and some people were still there and they were open w/limited hours. One has a grocery (moderately sized) store that is open until 6:00 p.m. I think they probably all remain open to some extent for security reasons. I will pull out my maps tonight and see what else I can come up with. I don't know why anyone would just want to pull off the road in the middle of the desert, no shade to be had, no water, and camp? I don't know if scorpions are a problem there but I know they are in other parts of az so you probably want to check. But the answer to your question is yes, you can pull off and camp pretty much anywhere along sr60. Just so you know, Quartz is basically a big truck stop on the interstate. There is an RV park there that I stayed at a couple of years ago that is very clean, friendly management and each space has a tree, picnic table, water etc. The shower facility even had an outdoor hot tub, which I highly doubt you will want to use if you are doing the trip before fall. Depending on your riding ability, you can easily make it from Quartz to Wick in a day.
